The complex stands out in the landscape like a foreign object. It is an entirely metal construction, clad in galvanised steel sheet and aluminium, organised into clean-cut volumes with a neutral shape. Only the hangar roof breaks with the formal anatomy of the complex, with a partially curved section that acts as a screen to capture light from the north.

The general layout follows a basic functional logic. The main feature is the hangar, a 50 x 86 m building with no intermediate supports, surrounded on three sides by warehouses, workshops and laboratories, and entirely open on its southern façade to the taxiway for helicopter take-off and landing. Near the main entrance are the general offices, and at the opposite end is a pavilion that houses various services and complementary technical facilities. In front of all of them, to the south, is the aircraft apron and manoeuvring area and the refuelling point.
