The project's most significant challenge lies in designing a building that is both flexible and adaptable, while also incorporating a certain corporate and representative character. This dual requirement is resolved through the morphology of a bar-like structure with two facades: the entrance, more public and institutional, and the second related to internal operations. This "two-faced" characteristic also contributes to the creation of a visually and environmentally controlled setting, where vegetation plays a prominent role.
The surrounding industrial buildings and the horizontal landscape of La Mancha are subtly nuanced by the building's position, parallel to the road from which it is accessed; by the way one reaches the main entrance, through a semi-open courtyard; by the way the different circulation routes are articulated; and by the overall urban development strategy for the site.
The way the plot is occupied leaves the unbuilt portion with a regular shape, maximizing the open space. This allows for the buildings’ expansion in many different configurations, which can largely take advantage of the existing streets.
We propose the construction of a simple and robust building in its structural systems, with repetitive and prefabricated elements that allow for short construction times and cost savings. However, in certain areas, the project also allows for greater sophistication, more refined details that will lend the whole the warmth and material quality that a good workplace needs—a comfortable place. These more carefully considered details will also convey the company's solvency and solidity to visitors.
