Norforest Valdelacasa Offices
Workspaces are in a process of change. They have gone from being exclusively utilitarian places to become environments where health and wellbeing or the incorporation of social uses is paramount. The new technology companies have taught us that the architecture of their spaces contributes substantially to improving people's creativity and productivity. The project that we propose for the Norforest offices not only proposes a setting for work, the green environment and certain hybrid common uses multiply the possibilities of the building's life and make the work experience more satisfactory.
The building programme includes, in addition to Norforest's own offices, a considerable area of office space for rental. The design of these spaces therefore requires maximum adaptability over time and a good use of the available surface area per floor. The proposed organisation around a single central core and unequal two-by-two centrelines optimises circulation and offers multiple layouts of workstations and workrooms that can be adapted to any type of company.
The project incorporates passive and active energy-saving systems that guarantee levels of consumption close to zero in its operation. The façade avoids curtain walls, which are inefficient due to the significant energy losses they produce in Madrid's climate, and simply and effectively regulates the incidence of solar radiation on its glazed surfaces. The engineering of the installations proposes different possible levels of technology in the production and conservation of energy, with special attention to the physical and psychological comfort of those who work in it.
