ARCO is above all a great public space. A meeting place, where the galleries form an orderly but varied network of streets and crossroads in which to get lost and enjoy the formidable diversity of artistic and cultural proposals offered by the fair.

But this great space has to negotiate with two contradictory scales. On the one hand, it builds the place where the galleries are located, where the art pieces on display have the maximum prominence. Our work here has consisted of facilitating as frank a relationship as possible between visitors and collectors and the pieces, and that this relationship be free of interference and distractions.

On the other hand, however, ARCO needs a clear collective identity, as if it were a small city, albeit an ephemeral one, with clear visual references to help visitors orient themselves, establish some hierarchy in the routes and build a space for conversation and strolling. To this end, a thick and emphatic line that extends from end to end on the plane that brings unity to the whole and establishes a deep threshold with the public areas of ARCO. The visual and formal power of this 'backdrop' configures this essential common space for conversation, rest and relationships.
