Social housing in Valdebebas
Due to the conditions of the plot, the building is attached to the side boundaries, forming a closed and continuous structure facing the street. The building has two clearly different sides. To the north, where the access street is located, the design is more austere and neutral. On this façade, with its orderly openings, a series of ‘bay windows’ add a certain vibrancy and texture that will make the building brighter and more recognisable. On the south side, where the garden is located, there are deep terraces arranged so that they all have double height ceilings.
The project has very strict conditions in terms of volume and position. Therefore, its sensitivity to different boundary conditions is almost the only margin of freedom to exploit, and that is where the most intense part of the project lies.
