The sun shapes the building in a certain way. The sunniest façades open up with terraces and large glass surfaces exposed to the winter sun and the silence of the garden. A continuous strip acts as a deep façade, like a large climate control diaphragm. In summer, either with a trellis or through a system of vertical awnings, the rooms are completely protected from direct radiation, creating a comfortable shade inside. The opposite façades are smoother and feature large windows cut into the wall. On the attic floors, which are more sensitive to the sun, a system of light pergolas provides a versatile method of variable response to the different seasons of the year and creates a less sharp and more airy silhouette of the building against the sky.
