House in Tacoronte
The house is built on the northern part of the plot, leaving the garden to the south. To the north, an English courtyard resolves the unevenness of the plot and illuminates the basement where the service areas and garage are located.
On the ground floor, there is a double-height living room to the south and the kitchen and bedrooms to the north, separated by a compact piece of furniture that houses the cupboards and bathrooms. The upper floor repeats the structure of the lower floor, separating the bedrooms from the double-height living room.
The volume of the house is compact and emphatic. The openings on its four façades are its hallmarks. Each opening has taken on its own importance and significance, distinguished from the others by its position, orientation, shape and size. Thus, it is the law imposed by the openings rather than the distribution of uses that orders the abstract volume of the house. Pergolas and small structures give meaning and order to the garden.
