Barajas Housing
Based on existing plans, the proposed project involves research into the transformation of the city block as a universal traditional urban form and its ability to adapt to the specific conditions of the location in which it is situated. The building is designed in response to its urban setting. Thus, on the edge of the ‘Ensanche de Barajas’ Partial Plan development, facing the existing city fabric, four independent volumes emerge, linked together by the local tertiary premises and the canopy located on the eastern boundary, which protects the pedestrian access to the plot. The building complex, intended for residential and local tertiary use, reaches a height that complies with both the aerial easement of the area and the cornice height limit. The interior space of the block is designed as an area for socialising and play for the residents of the dwellings.
