Torrejón de Ardoz Housing
The purpose of the project is to find a differentiated real estate formula that is appropriate to the good conditions of the site. Unlike the groupings built so far in the neighbourhood, the volumes are arranged in isolation, leaving a space between them, but constructing the boundaries of the block.
The dwellings are arranged around an open garden and can be oriented alternately towards this central space, towards midday or towards the outside. This form has the best of the block without losing the air and 'freedom' of the open block layout.
The second objective is to arrange the buildings and their relationship with the underground car park as strictly as possible in order to save the maximum area of unbuilt land inside the block and to be able to design a cool, damp garden with trees that allows the whole to 'breathe'. Around this central landscaped space, dwellings of different sizes are planned with a strictly modulated floor plan organisation that allows for regularity in the design of each house and a certain variability between them.
